New equipment commissioned at SVEZA Manturovo plywood mill
Sveza’s CEO Anatoly Frishman and the Governor of the Kostroma Region Sergey Sitnikov took part in the official ceremony of commissioning of a veneer drying line worth 151 million rubles at Sveza’s plywood mill in Manturovo.
The new drying line designed to process veneer sheets of all sizes will reduce the mill’s annual electrical energy consumption by 35% and increase the productivity of the drying area by 6%. The equipment includes automatic feeding and temperature and speed control, as well as modern quality assurance systems such as a moisture analyzer, cooling sections, and jam-up detectors.

“This modern drying line combines high productivity and easy maintenance. It is equipped with maintenance platforms providing convenient access to all systems. So far, Manturovo is the only mill at Sveza with an all-size veneer drying line like this one,” says Nikita Terekhanov, SVEZA Manturovo plywood mill manager.

According to Sveza’s CEO, the company has more plans to retrofit and upgrade its plywood production equipment.
“We continue to invest in the modernization of our production facilities. Since 2018, we have implemented at the Manturovo mill investment initiatives with a total value of 2 billion rubles, of which 400 million was spent last year on new equipment, digital transformation and automation of production processes, which naturally results in better working conditions,” says Anatoly Frishman.

The Kostroma Region has always been very important for Sveza. Two plywood mills are located here that play a vital role in the development of the region and the company. They have been closely cooperating with the local government bodies to promote social and economic development initiatives in the region.
“Skilled workforce is essential for the development of the region's forest industry and Sveza’s plywood mills in particular. Our most important task now is to reorganize our professional education system and create conditions to train the required specialists locally at Kostroma and Manturovo. We need to expand the range of professional development courses and focus on teaching modern technologies to our students,” says Sergey Sitnikov.
